

INSTRUCTION
RIGGING
(1 day course with a maximum occupancy of 20 students)
The following topics are covered in the Rigging Course:
- Duties of Employers, Supervisors, and Employees under the Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
- Specific legislation as it applies to rigging
- Rigging equipment and classifications
- Specific components and terminology
- Types of hitches and when/how to use them
- Sling angles
- Calculating the weight of an object
- Center of gravity
- Load control
- Reading a capacity chart
- Blocks
- Rigging plan
- Crane Signals
Rigging training is 8 hours in duration and begins with a classroom theory component that is followed by a written exam. The remainder of the session includes practical evaluations where students will demonstrate the required skills to maintain the Competent Operator Designation.
