RESPIRATORY PROTECTION

(1 day course with a maximum occupancy of 20 students)

  • Overview of the respiratory system
  • Toxins and routes of entry
  • Responsibilities of Employers, Supervisors and Workers
  • Hazard Assessments
  • Types of equipment including:
    • Disposables
    • Half Masks
    • Full Facepiece
    • Powered Air Purifying Respirators
    • Air Line Units
    • Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
    • Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus
  • Assigned protection factors
  • Hazard ratios
  • Inspection procedures
  • Seal checks
  • Fit testing
  • Medical assessments

Respiratory Protection training is a one day course that can include the completion of either a qualitative or quantitative fit test. User screening performed by medical personnel can also be provided.
