INCIDENT INVESTIGATION

  • Legal investigation requirements and reporting
  • Determination of investigators
  • Investigation purposes
  • The investigation process, including:
    • Provision of emergency services
    • Incident overview
    • Gathering evidence
    • Interviewing witnesses
    • Determination of causes
    • Corrective actions
    • Investigation reporting

The Incident Investigation course is conducted as an in-class room theory. The bulk of the investigation process is learned through an investigation into a mock accident that has or is likely to occur at the facility. This material is developed site specific for each organization. Any investigation procedures or documentation that the students are required to follow may be used for the investigation exercises.
