

INSTRUCTION
AERIAL LIFT
(2 day course with a maximum occupancy of 8 students)
*Please note that Fall Protection/Arrest is a requirement prior to taking this course.

- Duties of Employers, Supervisors, and Employees under the Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
- Specific legislation as it applies to aerial lifts
- Specific components and terminology
- Safety devices
- Center of gravity
- Leverage
- Load capacity ratings
- Hazards associated with aerial lifts
- Inspection procedures
- Repairs and maintenance
- Operating techniques including:
- Planning the work area
- Travel
- Positioning the unit
- Raising the platform
- Working from a raised platform
- Emergency procedures
- Parking
Aerial Lift training is 16 hours in duration and begins with a classroom theory component that is followed by a written exam. The remainder of the session includes practical training which gives the students an opportunity to practice newly acquired skills prior to completing a practical evaluation.
